Students at Sharif University summoned to disciplinary committee and Intelligence Ministry offices

Iran: Protests and clashes mark anniversary of nationwide uprisingNCRI – Dozens of students from Tehran’s Sharif University have been summoned to the university’s disciplinary committee and offices of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), after they staged a gathering on June 12.

According to Daneshjoo (Student) News, at least 14 of the students were summoned to the committee for chanting “God is great” during nightly protests while at least 8 were summoned for “attending the gathering of June 12.”

Thus far, 6 activist students at the university have also been called to MOIS offices where they have been interrogated.

It is worth reminding that despite the severe atmosphere of suppression at universities, the June 12 protest gatherings were held on University of Tehran, Sharif and other universities’ campuses attended by hundreds of dissident students.

Moreover, students at the university issued an internet call to gather in front of the Computer Science Department on Sunday, June 20, at noon in memory of those who lost their lives during the year-long uprising. They have called for participants to hold pictures of those slain and hold a candle vigil.
