Prisoners under pressure in Iran’s prisons

Evin Prison in TerhranNCRI – The Iranian regime has intensified pressures on political prisoners in the past few weeks and with protests soaring up across the country.

The Iranian regime has prevented medical treatment for 20 political prisoners in Evin Prison in order to kill them gradually. These prisoners have been sentenced to long terms of 5 to 10 years and are suffering different diseases as a result of severe tortures and lack of medical treatment.

Names of the 20 prisoners are: Seyed Mohammad Ibrahimi, Hamid Reza Moradi, Mostafa Daneshjoo, Hossein Zarini, Reza Shahabi, Behnam Ibrahimzadeh, Saeid Abedini, Farzad Rouhi, Assad allah Assadi, Mohammad Davari, Gholamreza Hosseini, Davoud Assadi, Saeid Madani, Ibrahim Babaii, Nader Jani, Vahid Rouhbakhsh, Pejman Abdulhassan zadeh, Hani Yazarlou, Ali Allaii and Ali Asghar Mahmoudian.

In the meanwhile, the mullahs’ regime brutally attacked ward 2 and 8 of Bandar Abbas Central Prison on August 12, 13 and 14. They beat the prisoners and destroyed or confiscated their personal belongings.
7 other prisoners kept in solitary confinement for two years in Zahedan are facing death penalty. They are accused of murdering a Bassij force and were forced to confess under brutal tortures. The prisoners are, Molavi Fathi, Mohammad Naqshbandi, Malek Mohammad Abadian, Nezamoddin Mollazadeh, Jabar Abadian, Hadi Abadian, Javad Abadian and Gol Mohammad Balideh’i.

Political prisoner, Foad Ahmad Nouri, sentenced to 13 years in prison on charges of action against the national security, has been deprived of family visits for 2 years.

The prison officials told his family of being permitted to visit their son in the beginning of the week. 8 members of his family paved 800 kilometers from Javanroud city to Gohardasht Prison, Karaj to see their loved one on Wednesday, August 14. However, they were prevented again from visiting Foad and returned back without any visits.

The prison officials and the prosecutor are also preventing political prisoner, Asghar Qatan suffering from cancer to be transferred to the hospital.

This political prisoner is suffering from various diseases such as Diabetes, blood pressure, heart and kidney deficiency and has many times been in a critical condition, being unable to walk and move.
