Pressure on Political Prisoners grow in Iran

Pressure on Political Prisoners Intensifies in IranNCRI – Based on reports received from different prisons in Iran, the Intelligence Ministry along with the infirmaries of prisons plan to force political prisoners into using addictive drugs.

According to the reports, the pain relief medicines prescribed to prisoners contain a high level of addictive drugs. Drugs are also added to the political prisoner’s food.

Based on information received from sources in Iran, Hassan Zare Dehnavi, Tehran’s deputy prosecutor, also known as Judge Haddad, is examining the political prisoners’ files to plan more pressure on them and on their families. He has stated that the regime was preparing to finish off the activities of human rights activists once and for all.

In Gohardasht prison in Karaj, west of Tehran, the interrogators and torturers are imposing further restrictions against the political prisoners. They have reduced the prisoners’ food rations.

In recent days, the Intelligence Ministry agents have threatened the families of political prisoners not to leak the news of political prisoners to the media.

The head of Orumieh Prison has banned contacts between political prisoners and other inmates.
