Political prisoner executed in Iran’s Oroumieh

NCRI – The Iranian regime executed a political prisoner in the northwestern city of Oroumieh on Saturday, according to reports.

Hossein Khezri was hanged without the prior knowledge of his family or lawyer.

He was taken to an unknown location two weeks ago. Three other political prisoners and cellmates staged a hunger strike in protest to the relocation. Following Mr. Khezri’s execution, they said they would continue with the hunger strike.

Two of the political prisoners are being held in solitary confinement. The third was transferred to the intelligence office in Oroumieh.

In a statement, the Iranian Resistance vehemently condemned the criminal execution and called on all international organizations and rights groups to immediately intervene to stop further executions by the clerical dictatorship in Iran.
