NCRI – A critically-ill political prisoner has been refused treatment for cancer at Evin prison in the Iranian capital Tehran.

Ali Moezi, 63, who has cyst cancer and kidney problems, is one of hundreds of prisoners who are being refused urgent medical treatment across the regime.

Mr Moezi was transferred to solitary confinement and deprived of family visits six months ago for refusing to participate in a sham trial presided by henchman judge Salavati, known as the ‘death judge’.

The former political prisoner in 1980s was arrested again in November 2008 for visiting his two children in Camp Ashraf and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Then in June 2011, a few days after having surgery, he was once again arrested for participating in the funeral of Mohsen Dogmechi, a PMOI (MEK) supporter who had been tortured to death in prison after being deprived of medical treatment.
