President Obama scolded a number of countries including Iran and North Korea for repressing religious minorities and called on Iranian regime to free Pastor Abedini who remains imprisoned in Iran.
Mr. Obama said at the annual National Prayer Breakfast in Washington that Rev. Abedini is serving eight years in prison in Iran “on charges relating to his Christian beliefs.”
“As we continue to work for his freedom, today, again, we call on the Iranian government to release Pastor Abedini, so he can return to the loving arms of his wife and children in Idaho,” Mr. Obama said.
