No water, food or power as conditions plunge at Iran’s prisons

NCRI – Prisoners are being deprived of food, water, medicines and electricity and used as slaves as conditions plunge to inhumane levels in prisons across Iran.

At Rajaii Prison, in Karaj, officials have cut off water for more than 20 days from 9am to 8pm, leaving prisoners even without supplies for washing.

At Bandar Abbas Prison, guards went back on their promise to allow inmates leave for the Eid al-Fitr celebration to mark the end of Ramadan.

Heavy rains and floods in the provinces of Sistan and Balouchestan has also created critical conditions at prisons in the region, where power has been cut off permanently.

Prison officials at Birjand Prison have ordered two-months slavery prisoners, and the forcible participation in moral classes as a condition for being allowed on leave.

There are also more than 1000 prisoners on death row at Birjand, where prisoners are being used a slave labour, according to reports from inside the regime.
