Etemad daily, on April 15, published the shocking confessions of the murderers.
One of the victims was buried alive after loosing consciousness due to repeated blows to his head. The other was strangled and the third, a woman named Jamila, was stoned to death and then her body was left in the open to be “eaten by the animals.” And finally a man and wife were drowned in a well.
The murderers are members of the Iranian Basij Force, a militia connected to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps. Their duty is to suppress and control the people.
In the court, the murderers claimed that they concluded the victims were corrupt people and so they had to be killed.
The local courts were not able to acquit the convicts due to extreme pressures from the people of Kerman. They denied the allegations that those people were corrupt, specially that two of them were a married couple. Finally the highest mullahs’ judicial authority ordered them discharged.
The Chair of the Judiciary Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Dr. Sanabargh Zahedi said, “The mullahs try to suppress the people by leaving the Para-militias’ hands open to kill and eventually acquitting them.”
“The mullahs’ supreme court, referred to ‘Islamic Penal Code’ in order to release the convicts,” Said Dr. Zahedi.
According to amendment 2 of article 295 of this code, “If a person kills another believing he deserves punishment and this is proven to the court, the person will not be charged and will not have to pay religious compensations (Diah).”
A large number of people have been killed employing this amendment during many years of mullahs’ rule in Iran, while their murderers were protected.
Dr. Zahedi stressed that the so-called “Islamic Penal Code” is a collection of anti-human and medieval punishments. This code and its articles are the best indication that the violations of human rights have been justified by ratification of inhumane laws by the mullahs’ regime.
The decision to acquit the murderers reveals some notable facts:
1- The Basij Para-militia members can kill anyone not fearing for punishment. Anarchy and murder is a part of the mullahs’ regime existence.
2- The Iranian judiciary, entirely and at its highest levels, supports this behavior.
3- Violation of human rights under the rule of the Iranian regime is not an exception but is the rule and the laws systematically violate the fundamentals of human rights supported by the criminal law.
As it seems the announcement to acquit the murderers, along with the publication of details of the murders is part of mullahs’ ploy at raising the suppression. The mullahs have resorted to these tactics to terrorize the people after the latest wave of civil unrests such as the nationwide teacher’s strikes.
