The spouse of one of the people charged with “ethical crimes” rejected the allegations, saying, “Among the charges stated are insulting Khamenei and Ahmadinejad and having contacts with opposition groups,” referring to the regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and its President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
News agencies reported, in Zahedan, the regime started proceedings for the execution of four more prisoners.
In recent days, five other execution sentences were issued in Tehran.
Among those sentenced to death are a father and his daughter.
The execution sentences are part of a policy of instilling fear in society by the regime to counter upcoming protests and uprisings in February.
