Mohammad Javad Larijani said in an interview with the Tasnim News Agency (affiliated with the terrorist Quds Force) that human rights has been turned (by the West) into a field for attacking the establishment (of the clerical regime).”
Larijani said on April 10: “The problem is that the West does not understand that Qisas (law of retribution) is different from execution. We are not ashamed of stoning or any of the Islamic decrees.
“No one has the right to tell a judge to avert some sentences because the United Nations gets upset. We should firmly and seriously defend the sentence of stoning.”
He also has said: “Retaliation and punishment are beautiful and necessary things. It’s a form of protection for the individual and civil rights of the people in a society.
The executioner or the person carrying out the sentence is in fact very much a defender of human rights. One can say that there is humanity in the act of retaliation.”
His latest remarks follows the April 17 attack on political prisoners in ward 350 of notorious Evin Prison by a large number of the clerical regime’s suppressive forces savagely beating up and insulting the prisoners. The excuse for the raid was inspecting the ward.
Ward 350 is the ward of political prisoners in Evin Prison, including those who are imprisoned on the charges of affiliation with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The Amnesty International condemned the raid in a call for Urgent Action on April 17.
The assailants were in particularly focused on prisoners who are charged with being affiliated to the PMOI/MEK and beat them up more severely, and wounded a number of them.
The henchmen in Evin transferred a number of political prisoners to solitary cells despite their injuries and their need for medical treatment and there is no news on their conditions.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance has called for an independent international probe by the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and Dr. Ahmed Shaheed, Special Rapporteur on Iran, into the barbaric raid at Evin Prison.
She also called for regular visits by the International Committee of the Red Cross to prisons in Iran similar to the end Shah’s era.
