Iranian regime sentences Misaq Yazdan Nejad 13 years in prison

NCRI – The dictatorial regime ruling Iran has sentenced a young political prisoner to 13 years of prison for participating in a ceremony marking the 19th anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners by the regime in 1988. The sentence, initially handed down by judge Salavati, was confirmed by Babai.

The political prisoner, Misaq Yazdan Nejad, 23, is a former student at the University of Payam-e Nour majoring in languages and translation. He was arrested when agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) raided his house. He was transferred to Ward 209 of the notorious Evin prison in Tehran. He then spent 6 months in solitary confinement and was later transferred to the prison’s Ward 350.

During his incarceration, Yazdan Nejad has been placed under torture by the chief interrogator of Ward 209, who has the alias Alavi, and another interrogator, Rahmati.

The latter is described as a short bald man with bright eyes and is about 40 years old.
