Iranian regime hanged three more in the south

Iranian regime hanged three in the southNCRI – Three men were hanged in Ahwaz, provincial capital of oil-rich Khuzistan, south of Iran, yesterday. They were charged for alleged involvement in bombings which took place two years ago according to the state-run news agency IRNA on Thursday.

The mullahs’ prosecutor general in Ahwaz announced that more people were going to be hanged for their alleged involvement in the same bombings.

The regime has already hanged 10 other people for involvement in the bombings. At the time it blamed the attacks on elements linked to Britain, whose forces are stationed in the region in southern Iraq over the border. London denied the accusations.

Khuzistan province has been the scene of protests and clashes between the regime’s suppressive forces and the local people in recent years. Yesterday’s hangings of the three for a crime attributed to them after two years amid a new wave of executions across Iran raises concern over growing number of arbitrary executions currently taking place. This is particularly worrying as 10 people have already been hanged for the same incident.
