Iranian regime attacks political prisoners in Evin Prison

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s guards at Evin Prison and its anti-riot units raided ward 350 of the prison on Thursday morning (January 17, 2012)conducting a “very harsh” search.  During the raid, the forces body searched all the prisoners and took away all the writings and note books.

The political prisoners protested by singing Iranian anthem of “Ey Iran” and chanted ““Down with dictator”, “Death to the oppressor, whether it be a king or a [supreme] Leader”.

The political prisoners described the raid as “ vary harsh” and “unprecedented” in recent years.

This move follows the recent wave of intensified suppression including denying political prisoners family visits, torturing to death activists and blogger, public hangings and executions as a means to intimidate the public to prevent uprisings in the months.
