NCRI – The health of two incarcerated Iranian political prisoners is deteriorating due to a long hunger strike in protest to their transfer to a section of prison where dangerous prisoners are being held.

Political Prisoners Iraj Hatami and Ali Reza Farahani went on hunger strike in Gohardasht Prison in the city of Karja on October 1 after they were transferred.

Mr Hatami and Mr Farahani, former army officers were arrested in 2009 following the anti-regime protests in Iran.

In order to put pressure on the political prisoners and torture them, the authorities in Iranian prisons often transfer political prisoners to where dangerous inmates are being held.
