Iran: Two prisoners hanged in Sanandaj and Shiraz

hanging-Ahwaz150NCRI – The mullahs' regime hanged a 45-year-old man named Nasser Hamidi in the prison yard in the northwestern city of Sanandaj.

Hamidi a resident of the Kurdish city of Kamyaran was accused of Moharebeh "waging war on God." A term used by the clerical regime to describe its dissidents.
The mullahs' judiciary hanged a 19-year-old man, without naming him, on Saturday in Adel-abad prison in the southern city of Shiraz. He was under 18 at time of the alleged crime.

The Iranian regime has no respect for the international covenants which it is a party to. According the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention of the Rights of the Child, it is obliged not to execute juveniles.

ON July 22, in a statement the EU called on the mullahs' regime not to uphold the execution sentences for two young men, Mohammed Fadaei and Behnood Shojaee.

"The Presidency of the Council of the European Union expresses its deep concern regarding the announcement of the imminent execution of Mohammed Fadaei and Behnood Shojaee, who are both sentenced to death for alleged crimes committed when they were minors. The Presidency deplores the decision by Iranian authorities to carry out the death sentences even though the European Union has twice called on Iran to commute them. Such judicial practices are unacceptable," said the statement issued by France which currently holds the EU presidency.

The statement added, " These juvenile death sentences are a gross violation of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s international obligations and commitments, specifically as set out in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention of the Rights of the Child, both clearly prohibiting the execution of minors or people who have been convicted of a crime committed when they were minors."

Dispute EU's appeals the mullahs' regime executed a 17-year-old boy named Mohammad Hassan-Zadeh in the northwestern city of Sanandaj on June 10 for a crime he had allegedly committed when he was only 14.

According to the rights groups 114 youths face gallows for the crimes allegedly committed when they were minors. The youngest is a 13-year-old boy named Ahmad Nowroozi sentenced to death by the mullahs' judiciary three years ago in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchistan.
