The two were alleged to have been involved in a bombing in Ahwaz back in October. Khuzistan province was the scene of widespread unrests last summer which lasted several weeks and the regime had to call in reinforcements to impose a curfew to bring the situation under control. 62 people were reported to have been killed in the riots and dozens wounded. Many of those detained in summer have not been yet released and some have already been hanged in public for their involvement in the unrest.
No details for the trial of the two, if any, have been released which is considered to be a political case. The state media identified the men as Ali Affrawi and Mehdi Navasseri.
Britain was blamed by the clerical regime for October bombing which was denied by London.
