Iran: Three flogged in public

NCRI – Two men flogged in public in Shiraz, provincial capital of Fars, southern Iran, today. The head of the judiciary in the province told reporters that the men were punished within the context of implementation of a plan to deal with important cases and the campaign against those who disturb the regime’s so called order and security.

The degrading punishment of the two identified by semi-official news agency Fars as Jaafar and Abbas B. was carried out near where they lived.

The news agency report also quoted the judiciary official saying that a third man was going to be flogged 180 times mid-day today.

Public hangings and degrading punishments take place amid widespread protests across Iran against the clerical medieval rule.
