Iran: Suppression of minorities continue

NCRI – The Iranian regime has sentenced a Christian to 4 years imprisonment. She has been accused of ‘activities and propaganda’ against the regime, provoking the public to create unrest and also establishing church houses.

Maryam Naqash Zargaran was arrested on July 15 and transferred to Evin Prison.

An Arab Iranian political prisoner on death row has been transferred to solitary confinement of the intelligence bureau and there is no information on his whereabouts.

Ghazi Abbasi was first transferred to the quarantine of Karoon Prison in the city of Ahvaz on September 30 and was then taken secretly to the intelligence bureau on October 4.

He and 3 other Arab prisoners were sentenced to death on September 4 and they are currently awaiting their execution.
