Iran: SSF chief calls for more suppressive measures to come

NCRI – Brig. Gen. Ismail Ahmadi-Moqaddam chief of the State Security Forces (SSF) – mullahs' suppressive police— announced that the so-called "boosting public security" plan will be followed full force.

However, "we will not announce, as it was done before, the various phases of the plan openly. Rather they will be implemented without noticing the public," added Ahmadi-Moqaddam.

"We will combat the improper dressing and other forms of immodest behavior and at the same time the SSF will continue with its undercover controls as well as advising the citizens how to behave," Ahmadi-Moqaddam said.

He emphasized that the force under his command would deal with "immodest outerwear swiftly."
The so-called "boosting public security" plan was first introduced in April of 2007 by the SSF under the pretext of combating "mal-veiling" and "hooligans and thugs." However, the main targets of such suppressive plans are women and youths in Iran. In implementing the various phases of the plan, the SSF agents have put 1,200,000 women under street arrests and a large number of youths have been sent to gallows.
