The FCO have expressed great concern that Safar Angooti, a young Iranian, is due to be executed tomorrow despite international calls for clemency. A Foreign Office spokesperson said: 'We are greatly concerned to see that Safar Angooti's execution is set to go ahead tomorrow morning. If it does, this would be the second time in 10 days that the Iranian authorities have executed a young Iranian for a crime committed when he was below the age of 18 years – in contravention of its own international legal obligation, and in defiance of calls for clemency from campaigners within Iran and around the world.'
