Iran: Repressive measures intensify

State Security Forces in the city of Bandar Abbas raided people’s homes and arrested several youths on Saturday and Sunday, December 28 and 29.

No reasons was given for the arrests but the residents believe the arrests are being made in fear of public protests against the regime.

Residents of Tehran’s Kan district clashed with repressive municipality agents who intended to demolish a home in this area which they claim has been built without proper construction permit. These scuffles took place on December 28th near the bus station of this district.

Security forces in district 5 of Tehran intended to arrest a young man on December 26. However, the youth resisted and State Security Forces clashed with passersby who supported the youth.

Patrols of State Security Forces have recently increased in district 5 of Tehran stopping vehicles and passersby and searching them for bogus reasons including improper veiling for women and playing music in cars.
