Iran: Prison authorities confiscate political prisoners ‘possessions

NCRI – Political prisoner Arjang Davoudi has accused guards of confiscating his personal belongings whilst transferring him between prisons.

In a letter to human rights groups and international media, Mr Davoudi said he had been deprived of his possessions for four months.

He wrote: “I was transferred from Gohardasht Prison to Evin Prison in the hot summer of June 27, 2012.

“After spending 137 days in a solitary confinement of ward 209 in Evin Prison, I was transferred to Bandar Abbas Prison on November 10 having the same summer clothes and plastic slippers on.

“This was the second time I was being transferred to the Central Prison of Bandar Abbas, south of Iran, known as ‘Bastille’ Prison of the Middle East.
“As soon as we got to the airport, I noticed that they hadn’t brought my personal belonging. I objected to this action.

“The agent of the Intelligence Ministry who was accompanying me said that they will send my stuff within a few days.

“Presently, four months have passed from this date and New Year is on the way but I haven’t received any of my personal belongings, some of which are very valuable to me.”
