Iran: Political prisoners denied medical treatment

Prison officials in Zahedan Central Prison have deprived political prisoner Iraj Mohammadi of receiving his medicine.

This prisoner is suffering from nervous illnesses after enduring brutal torture by the Iranian regime’s Ministry of Intelligence interrogators in a secret prison.

Another political prisoner in Evin Prison was also banned from being transferred to a medical center following his refusal to wear prison clothes and being handcuffed.

Saied Matin-pour, has been sentenced to 8 years with physical punishment on charges of having connections with foreigners and propaganda against the government.

In Iran, political and conscience prisoners are forced to wear prison clothes and be handcuffed and chained while being transferred to a medical centers.

This has however, raised strong complaints and objections of the prisoners, refusing to do so. Subsequently, the prison officials reject their transfer to clinic.
