On Wednesday, Harana news agency reported that Mansour Osanlou, the head of the Greater Tehran Bus Company Syndicate, was tried in the city of Karaj and sentenced to a year in prison.
Mr. Osanlou has been jailed a number of times since 2005 for his efforts in defending rights of Iranian workers, and has been imprisoned since July 2007.
Regime officials recently fabricated a case against Osanlou and did not inform his lawyer about the trial date in an apparent attempt to swiftly saddle the political activist with another year in prison.
