Iran: Political prisoner critically ill in prison

NCRI – A political prisoner jailed for his opposition to the Iranian regime is critically ill in prison, it was reported on Thursday.

Ali Asghar Mahmoudian and his wife Nahid were both arrested when intelligence ministry agents raided their house in the wake of the Ashura uprising of December 2010.

He had already spent 11 years behind bars in the 1980s and 1990s for his political views.

His brother Amir was executed at the age of 28 in the city of Rasht, northern Iran, in 1984.

Iranian regime henchman often tell political prisoners supporting The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) they will not be ‘executed quickly’ but left to die of disease.
