Despite mandatory regulations set by the OIP, the private hospitals have refused to comply and stop paying the striking physicians.
The government refuses to allocate the funds necessary for the hospitals to pay the physicians, one of the protesters said.
Physicians are supposed to have the highest pay grade in the country. However, in many cases, suppressive measures adopted by the government in the sector have caused major problems for the physicians.
The Iranian work force is suffering from widespread government corruption. Workers, as the lowest paid in the country, are hard hit. In addition, thousands of teachers as fixed income government employees last year went on strikes for months over low pay.
With the inflation sky rocketing, 26 percent, according to government figures which is widely argued by independent estimates, most Iranians live under poverty line.
The mullahs' nightmare is closing in with the new school year just around the corner. Traditionally, the schools open on September 22 and millions of students go to school. Teachers have already vowed to keep their class shutdown until their demands are met.
