He promised more suppressive measures and said, “We do not disavow cultural actions but at the same time we do not accept lawlessness.”
Previously, the state-run Aftab website quoted on June 9 the Friday prayers leader of Isfahan, mullah Mohsen Mahdoudi, as saying, “An agreement has been reached regarding the upholding of chastity and veils for women working in government institutions in the province and the methods for implementing them has been handed down to government branches. This order must be adhered to in all offices. The directors of various government organs are obligated to hold checks and controls to make sure they are in operation.”
While condemning the regime’s misogynous so-called Chastity Plan and plan to combat social pollution and corruption, Mrs. Sarvenaz Chitsaz, Chairwoman of the Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said, “Such suppressive plans and actions which have been implemented by the regime with the Summer months approaching are in reality efforts by the regime to suppress all social protests and uprisings which have erupted all across the country and have taken the leaders of the regime by storm.”
