Iran: Murder of a 20-year old prisoner under torture

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s security agents have killed a 20-year old prisoner under torture.

Abolfazl Rajabi, 20, was killed during interrogation in early August. He was born in 1993 and was an ordinary worker working with his father in a small workshop in the city of Mianeh.

The father of the prisoner said that his son was arrested in August t. He was able to meet with his son and observed then that his son had no physical problems except bruises and discoloration of his face.

When Ali Rajabi, father of the prisoner, went to the detention center to see his son, the security agents told him “God bless your son, he died.”

Abolfazl’s father said, “They tell me he hanged himself with the waistband of his underwear. His weight was 65 kilograms, how could he hang himself with the ribbon of underwear?.”

Murder under torture is a common phenomenon in Iranian prisons. Last year the news about killing under torture of a young blogger, Sattar Beheshti, resulted in widespread disgrace for the mullahs’ regime. But many of these murders remain covered.

Quoting a judicial official, Iran’s state-run media claimed that Abolfazl Rajabi committed suicide in the prison. However, people of Mianeh reject this claim. The lawyer of the prison said Abolfazl was a healthy youth.
