NCRI – Brig. Gen. Ismail Ahmadi-Moqaddam, the State Security Forces (SSF) commander, warned the Iranian people of further suppression in the new Iranian year.  He emphasized that not only "the [security measures] are irreversible," but also "boosting public security plan" will continue "up to a point of no return."

The so-called "boosting public security plan" was first introduced last April to crush popular uprisings. Mass arrests of hundreds of thousands of women and youth under the pretext of combating "mal-veiling" and suppressing "thugs and hooligans" followed. In the same period, more than 300 prisoners were sent to the gallows.

In a speech in the western city of Paveh on Wednesday, Ahmadi-Moqaddam stressed that with "utilizing the overt and covert police presence; increasing police patrols and police stations; equipping the stations with monitoring systems; undercover control investigators" this new plans will be implemented in the new year, Iranian official news agency, IRNA, reported.

He said the new measures were consistent with Supreme Leader's description of the New Year as one of "innovations and blossoming." As such, he said, "the plans must achieve desired results."

"The SSF is determined… to follow this plan until it is completed. It will not reverse course."
