Since Hassan Rouhani has taken office, Dr. Ahmad Shaheed , the Special Rapporteur of the UN twice has asked to visit Iran but Rouhani has opposed it.
The spokesperson added that “terrorists and violent groups ” are the sources of its reports.
Ahmad Shaheed said: ” In 2012, the UN bodies working in the field of human rights have sent 28 letters to the Islamic Republic, but has only eight of these letters have been answered and visa applications for UN personnel wishing to visit has Iran remained unanswered .
