Iran Hanged 8 including 2 women in Zahedan

NCRI – Iranian regime has hanged 8 prisoners in Zahedan, southwest of Iran, Saturday morning 10 March 2012, reports HRA News agency (Iranian Human Rights Activists).  Two of the prisoners were women. Also reports say that two of the men executed were Afghan nationals.

The victims were moved to solitary prison Friday just before their execution was carried out the next morning.  Not all of the prisoners have been identified by authorities but prison officials say that all eight hangings were due to drug related charges.

HRA says that the families of victims had to pay a considerable amount of money to receive bodies of victims; charges such as:  “Rope Fee” 500,000 Rials (USD 40.84), “Coroner’s fee” 400,000 Rials (USD 32.67), and “Death Certificate” 300,000 Rials(USD 24.50).
