Iran: Twenty-one prisoners hanged in past weekNCRI – Iranian regime has hanged four men in Bandar Abbas, and another in the central city of Isfahan, the official press reported on Sunday.

A man identified as Asghar Gh., 27, was hanged in Isfahan on Saturday, the official Kayhan daily reported. A report in the Etemad daily identified only one of the men hanged in Bandar Abbas as F.M., a 33-year-old.

The mullahs’ regime has stepped up public and group hangings since the beginning of so-called beefing up "public security plan" introduced in April.
The total number of executions in Iran reported by media in 2007 is over 270 which is well beyond the total number reported throughout 2006. Many of the death sentences were carried out in public.
