Iran: Families of political prisoners stage protest outside Majlis

NCRI – A group of members of families of political prisoners in Tehran Evin Prison gathered Sunday morning outside the Iranian regime’s parliament (Majlis) to protest Thursday’s raid on political prisoners in Ward 350 of the prison that left many injured and some taken away to solitary cells.

The protesters called for the release of political prisoners and the return of those transferred to solitary cells.

Meanwhile, Omid Behrouzi, has began a dry hunger strike to protest the brutal raid.

A large group of members of IRGC and agents of MOIS, joined by special forces in the prison, raided Ward 350 of the prison using inspections as an excuse. They barbarically battered, insulted and humiliated the political prisoners.

A number of prisoners were severely injured, including Gholamreza Khossravi-Savadjani, Assadollah Hadi, Javad Fouladvand, Assadollah Assadi, Omid Behrouzi, Esmaeil Barzegarei and Emad Bahavar.

The henchmen in Evin have transferred 32 political prisoners to solitary cells in Ward 240 of Evin despite having injuries and their need for medical treatment. So far there is no news on their conditions.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, on Friday called on international community and all relevant international bodies, to strongly condemn this atrocity and requested effective and immediate measure to prevent the torture and suppression of the political prisoners.
