Iran: EU presidency expresses again its deep revulsion at violence against peaceful protesters

NCRI – In a statement on Monday, Czech presidency of the European Union "expressed again its deep revulsion at the documented police violence against peaceful protesters in Iran after the elections.”

According to the statement, the Czech Foreign Ministry on Monday summoned the Iranian regime’s charge d'affaires in Prague to reject accusations by Tehran of so called Western meddling in its internal affairs.

First Deputy Foreign Minister Tomas Pojar "categorically rejected Iran’s claim that positions expressed by the EU and its member states constitute illegitimate interference in Iran’s internal affairs.” He reiterated, “The EU has the right to express its questions on whether the objective criteria of a transparent and democratic electoral process have been upheld in any country.”

"In this respect, the Presidency invited EU member states to consider summoning heads of Iranian missions in all EU countries to transmit the same message to Iranian authorities,” the statement said.
