Iran: Ahl-e-Haq Prisoners in life-threatening situation in the Orumieh Prison

PrisonNCRI- Four members of Ahl-e-Haq (a Shiite offshoot adhering to Imam Ali the first Shiite Imam) prisoners have begun their fourth week of hunger strike in a life threatening-situation in the Orumieh Prison deteriorated in recent days. These prisoners are: Sahand Ali Mohammadi, Bakhsh Ali Mohammadi, Ebadollah Ghasemzadeh and Mehdi Ghasemzadeh.

Ebadollah Ghasemzadeh is suffering from internal bleeding. All four prisoners lost their sights  and have lost considerable amont of weight.

The mullahs' Ministry of Intelligent and Security (MOIS) agents transferred Ahl-e-Haq prisoners to solitary confinement in the notorious MOIS prison in Orumieh, called “Quarantine”. The prisoners have been under enormous pressure and often tortured over the past two weeks.

As the heath condition of Ahl-e-Haq prisoners deteriorated, Rezaee Kiani, the mullah’s public Prosecutor in Orumieh and Fathi, the prison's warden and deputy director of MOIS's local office talked with the families of the political prisoners to temporally cajole them by saying that  their loved ones demands soon will be met.   

The Ahl-e-Haq prisoners went on hunger strike to protest their illegal arrest, detention, confiscation of their belongings and exile to Yazd prison. Ahl-e-Haq prisoners also highlighted the violation their freedom of expression and belief, as well as execution and imprisonment of their fellow coreligionists.

The Ahl-e-Haq prisoners went on a liquid-only hunger strike from April 16 underscoring their resolve to continue until an official signed and sealed-statement would guarantee that their demands will be honored.
