Iran: 76,000 women reprimanded for improper veiling in Tehran

NCRI – Pressure on women in Iran mounts as strict code of dressing enforced in Iran.

The state-run news agency ISNA reported that Reza Zarei, the commander of State Security Forces in the greater Tehran has announced that in the past month, 76,000 women and young girls have been reprimanded for improper veiling.

Zarei said, "In one month, some 76,000 improper-veiled women and young girls were either warned or reprimanded."

This is taking place during hot days of summer in Iran. Women are seen showing resistance to the suppressive measures by the clerical regime and there has been moves by women groups to defy discriminatory rules.
