Iran: 7 hangings reported by state media

NCRI – According to state-run media, seven prisoners were hanged in three parts of the country from north to south.

Four were hanged in Karoun prison of Ahvaz, provincial capital of Khuzestan, southwestern Iran. They were identified by their initials; Gh. F., A. A., H. M. and J. J.

Two more were reported by Javan daily to have been hanged on Saturday in the city of Saveh, near Tehran.

Mullahs’ official news agency IRNA reported on Saturday that another prisoner was hanged in the northern city of Sari, provincial capital of Mazandaran.

The prisoners were alleged to have been involved in drug trafficking or morale offenses but ISNA news agency quoted a judicial authority saying that the executions were carried out based on the “principle of rapid implementation of sentences” in line with the regime’s campaign to combat those who disrupt order and security.
