Iran: 200 arrested in a concert in Tehran

NCRI – More than 200 youths who had gone to western district of Tehran to attend a concert on were arrested.

The concert that was planned to be performed in two parts was stopped due to attack and arrest of all participants by state security forces.

According to reports the auditorium had a capacity for 220 and was full when the raid took place.

Security forces arrested everyone, including women that formed a third of the audience, and put them on minibuses and transferred them to the department dealing with wrong-doers [the judicial complex of Ministry of Guidance in Vozara Street].

Arrestees underwent complete body search and their pictures were taken.

It should be mentioned that the concert on Saturday, August 17, had permission from Ministry of Guidance and participants had tickets to a concert that was permitted to perform.

In addition to residents of Tehran, many had come from other cities such as Tabriz, Isfahan and Rasht to see this concert, but they were all arrested.
