Finish News Agency – Finland’s foreign ministry on Friday summoned Reza Nazarahari, the Iranian ambassador to Finland, over the execution by stoning carried out in Iran on Thursday.
A man found guilty of adultery was stoned to death in Iran on Thursday and another person has been sentenced to death by stoning.
Teija Tiilikainen, the political state secretary at the ministry, told the ambassador that the sentences constituted a violation of international human rights agreements that Iran had signed. She added that Finland strongly condemned the stoning and urged Iran not to carry out the second sentence.
