Eight hanged in Iran in attempt to terrify population

File PhotoNCRI – The Iranian regime hanged 8 people in Tehran on Wednesday morning, in yet another attempt to extend the wave of brutal suppression and executions as a way of spreading terror and fear in society.

According to the state-run Fars news agency, the regime’s henchmen hanged 7 people collectively on one occasion and the last separately.

About a month ago, the regime’s judiciary chief, Sadeq Larijani, warned that the pace of executions will increase in Iran with even some long-term prison sentences changed to execution.

The inhumane hangings by the clerical regime and its Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, serve as an instrument of suppression to counter growing popular resentment and protests against the weakened and crisis-ridden theocracy.

The Iranian Resistance has called on the international community, and particularly the UN Secretary General and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, to enact urgent measures to stop the clerical regime from resorting to cruel suppression and killings of the Iranian people to prolong its illegitimate rule.
