Bogus arrests continue across Iran

NCRI – Dozens of security agents attacked and arrested 20 youths watching a music concert in Isfahan in the latest in a spate of bogus arrests in Iran.

Regime forces swooped on the youth’s near Isfahan’s Khaju Bridge – a popular venue for watching a playing live music. Family members have no been given any reason for the arrests.

Oil company worker Mehdi Rahimi – who had previously been threatened for attending the May 1 Labor Day demonstration – was arrested on September 19 at a refinery in Tehran and his whereabouts are now unknown.

Azerbaijani civil rights activist Salar Touri was also arrested at the Yanar Cafe which he now manages in the city of Tabriz.

Mr Touri had previously been detained along with 50 of his customers on February 24 after the security forces raided his café while they were watching the first Asian football match.

He was arrested for a second time on March 2 with several other activists and after spending 10 days in prison, was released on a 100 million Tomans bail.

On September 15, six athletes were arrested in the city of Shahrekor for flying on a paraglider. The group had taken off that morning from Rokh Mountain and came down on open land near the Isfahan-Shahrekord Highway.

Regime security forces also attacked and arrested four Arab minority residents in, who have now been named as Davoud Hamid, 28, Afzal Vahabi, 29, Rezayat Moraqi, 24, and Ali Tamimi.
