Iran: Balouchi families must name children from government list

The Iranian قثلهوث has banned the people of Balouchestan province from choosing Balouchi names – and threatened anyone who protests against the rule with arrest and imprisonment.

The National Organization for Civil Registration is forcing families in the province to choose names children’s names from a list given to them by the government.

The regime had previously ordered the Kurdish minority not to use Kurdish names for centers, institutions and shops.

The National Organization for Civil Registration in Iran is a part of the interior ministry in charge of issuing ID cards and birth and death certificates.
