NCRI – A seriously ill political prisoner jailed in Iran is being denied urgent medical treatment by prison officials, according to reports from inside the regime.

Ali Moezzi – a former political prisoner in the 1980s and father of two Camp Liberty residents – is suffering from kidney and cyst problems but is being refused a transfer to hospital by officials at the prison in Karaj.

Sunni political prisoner Hadi Ahmadi suffered from low blood pressure and fainted on the 15th day of a hunger strike at Qezel Hesar Prison, Karaj, but officials are also refused to transfer him to a medical clinic.

Six more Sunni prisoners went on hunger strike on November 4 after being transferred to solitary confinement, where they were beaten by guards. The six have been named as Hamed Ahmadi, 32, Kamal Mallai, 29, Jamshid Dehghani, 28, Jahangir Dehghani, 27, Sediq Mohammadi, 27 and Seyed Hadi Hosseini, 30. Mr Ahmadi and Mr Dehghani are both said to be in a critical condition with bleeding in their stomachs.

Prison wardens also attacked a ward where cleric Kazemini Boroujerdi is being held, then beat him when he refused to be transferred for interrogation over letters he had sent outside the prison criticizing the regime and the conditions inside prison.

Mr Boroujerdi, 55, has been in prison for eight years and suffers from severe heart and breathing problems and diabetes. Government officials said they will only allow him medical treatment if he writes another letter retracting his comments.
