NCRI – The mullahs’ regime in Iran has hanged a prisoner in his forties in the eastern town of Zabol.

The prisoner, identified as Majid Sasouli, 45, was a father of six.

He had spent the past eight years in the regime’s prisons.

He was hanged in Zabol Prison at dawn on Saturday (September 5).

At least five death-row prisoners were on Sunday transferred to solitary confinement in Qezelhesar Prison in Karaj, north-west of the capital Tehran, in preparation for their execution in the coming days, according to reports received.

Four of the prisoners had been jailed in Qezelhesar Prison while a fifth prisoner was transferred from Tehran’s newly-constructed Fashafouye Prison.

They have been identified as Ali Tafreshi, Hossein Rostami, Mahmoud Barati, Mehdi Rahimi and a fifth prisoner identified only by his first name Zanyar.

They are accused of drugs related charges.

Also on Sunday, another two death-row prisoners in Bandar Abbas Prison, southern Iran, were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution.

They were identified as Ali Teymourian, 27, from the south-western city of Abadan, and Rasoul Mirzai, 54, from the central city of Isfahan.

They too have been given drugs related charges.

A statement by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on August 5 said: “Iran has reportedly executed more than 600 individuals so far this year. Last year, at least 753 people were executed in the country.”
