Two Iranian regime ships seized by Hong Kong, Malta

NCRI – The Hong Kong and Maltese governments have seized two ships belonging to the clerical regime.

According to news agencies, a German bank loaning 280 million dollars for the procurement of the two ships requested the seizure, which is also due to international sanctions against the clerical regime since insurance companies are banned from covering the regime’s ships.

The director of the mullahs’ shipping lines has said that since the necessary funding cannot be secured, the ships may be auctioned off.

Last June, the UN Security Council passed resolution 1929, which brought the regime’s shipping industry into the fold of sanctions in addition to its banks and institutions tied to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The resolution allows for the inspection or seizure of the regime’s ships in international waters, and if required, to destroy shipments on board.
