Iranian car exports plunge by 80 per cent

NCRI – Iran’s car exports have plunged by 80 per cent in the last year as the regime’s economy collapses into chaos.

Official figures from Iranian customs have shown the country exported 10,744 vehicles last year, or 0.2 per cent of all exports – and 80.44 per cent lower than the previous year.

The main importer of Iranian vehicles is Iraq, which buys 60 per cent of all exported vehicles, followed by Azerbaijan and Egypt.

The automotive industry is Iran’s second biggest, after oil and gas, with manufacturers producing six different types of vehicle, including passenger cars, 4WD, trucks, buses, minibuses, and pick-up trucks.

About 75 per cent of local output is passenger cars, followed by pick-ups at around 15 per cent.
