Iran: Toyota’s refusal to export to Iran will exact heavy costs for regime

NCRI – Toyota’s decision to stop exports to Iran will exact an enormous cost for the Iranian regime, state-affiliated Khabar Online said on Friday.

The news outlet rejected some official claims that international sanctions would not prove effective and said, “This is a serious issue and cannot be ignored. Although Toyota’s decision was completely unethical and unconventional in international relations, but we have to open our eyes.”

“Even removing the single country of Japan from the equation when it comes to domestic car manufacturers and importers, aside from the heavy financial toll, manufacturers like Iran Khodro, Pars Khodro, Bahman Group and the like will face enormous challenges.”

The news outlet highlighted the amount of car and parts imports from countries like South Korea, Japan, France, and Sweden, adding, “We will suffer if we don’t look at this seriously. These are restrictions that we ourselves created. First it was Daimler Chrysler, then BMP and now Toyota that have cut relations with Iran. There are also reports about similar actions from Hyundai.”
