NCRI – The Zayandehrud River, in central Iran, will dry up by Monday, 30 May according to the regime’s Ministry of Energy.

An official of the Ministry of Energy stressed that only 21% of the Zayandehrud Dam reservoir is filled with water.

Masood Mirmohammad Sadeghi, the head of the state water company’s branch in Isfahan, said: “In order to supply enough water for use in agriculture, Zayanderud Dam gate will be closed until May 28, and hopefully this will allow the water reserves to refill by May 30.”

His remarks were carried by the state-run ISNA news agency on Sunday.

He added: “The basin of Zayanderud River, is still in critical condition. In the east region of the basin, there has been roughly an 80% reduction in rainfall.”

He stipulated that the total capacity of Zayanderud Dam reservoir is nearly 1.5 billion cubic meters. However, the stored water is around 325 million cubic meters.
