Iran: Rouhani Government’s Debts to Banks Skyrocket

NCRI – Iran’s central bank in a report announced the debt of Rouhani’s government to the central bank has reached 178,680 billion Tomans (55 billion dollars) by November 20, 2016. According to the report, the government’s debt has faced %45.4 increase in the past seven months.

The report also adds that the amount of Rouhani government’s debt to other banks during the past 3 year and 7 months has increased from 56,740 billion Tomans (17.5 billion dollars) to 143,200 billion Tomans (44.2 billion dollars).

The central bank in its report admits the government of Rouhani in February/March 2014 has taken more than $4 billion dollars from the National Development Fund without returning it and also has picked up during the years 2015 and 2016 some amounts from central bank but has not returned them.

Head of the regime’s central bank, Valiollah Seif, also pointed out the situation of banks and said: “About %45 of bank resources is locked. A large portion of these resources is in the disposal of the government and state-owned companies.”
