Iran labor protests – Latest

Sunday, December 22: 600 workers of PolyAcryl Company in Isfahan staged their third protest against the employer’s policy to separate sub-companies from the main company.

Their second protest was carried out on the previous day with 200 workers gathering outside the factory.

Saturday, December 21: 650 workers at “sugarcane cutting” complex of Agriculture and Industry in the town of Haft Tapeh, left work to protest their delayed wages and last year’s bonus not received.

One of the workers who wanted to remain anonymous told state-run ILNA news agency that the workers stopped working and staged a strike in the fields waiting for a response.
Workers said that their protest will continue and emphasized on their need of rudimentary.

Friday, December 20: a group of farmers in the city of Isfahan gathered outside the office of the Iranian regime’s parliament representative to protest authority’s refusal to provide water for the farms and payment of the damages they caused.

Thursday, December 19: Contract workers of Abadan City in Khuzestan protested against their expulsion.

Wednesday, December 18: People of five villages around the city of Bandar Abbas gathered in protest against the lack of water in this area.

Tuesday, December 17: More than 50 workers of Aftab Factory in the northern city of Orumiyeh gathered in protest against their 5 months unpaid wages and insurance.
This factory is engaged in the production of fruit juices and dairy products.

Monday, December 16: Some 400 people in the city of Zabol, Sistan and Balouchestan Province gathered to protest against Hamoun Lake drying out and negligence of the authorities in this regard.

The protesters held placards that wrote, “we will save Hamoun”.

The spread of smooth sand due to the drought of this lake has caused agricultural lands to bury underground and destroyed villages. As a result of this, the people in this region always face sandstorm.

Saturday and Sunday, December 7 and 8: More than 2,000 workers of a gas company in the southern province of Bushehr staged a strike to protest their hard living condition and 4 months unpaid wages.
